It’s barely a week into senior year and yet it seemed like a month without weekends, imagine that. Don't get me wrong, i'm glad to be back in school but i’m not really enjoying my classes. As far as my senior year is going, I'm already tired with the confusing changes the school has made. I thought it was a good idea how the school decided to start later than usual because it’s a great way to reduce tardies but I didn't like how school ends a few minutes later too. Im glad im into a new school year so i can start fresh with different classes and different subjects. Normally, I would say that I wish I had a longer summer vacation but this summer i worked through it all so i was tired and annoyed of doing the same thing over and over. The good part was that I got paid and bought my own things.
I'm on my fourth year of AVID and i can say it feels good to have the opportunity to explore colleges. AVID has opened up my mind about attending a four year university and it has also helped me make the right decisions to get me into a university. Im also taking some classes i have no background information from and classes i haven’t tried before. However, i’m taking some classes that seem tough like for example; Pre Calculus, Chemistry, and Psychology which are time consuming classes that i will need to spend extra time on than my regular classes.
I'm pretty excited about graduating already, i know i barely started my senior year but to think that it’s my last year and that after this there will be no more free classes, free food, or free textbooks, it seems pretty interesting. I know college will be nothing like high school. There will be no teachers that push you to do your work and help you to catch up on late assignments but I think i’ve matured enough to be in that situation. I think i’m more excited about going to college than to being on my last year of high school. After what felt like an eternity, i didn’t think senior year would be like this and by this i mean that there is not much to it other than being our last year. Everything is practically the same, we’re just the upper classmen now and that we’re supposed to put an example to the rest of the students.
I hope that my senior year brings a lot of great memories although it won't be easy to graduate. I know this year will be good from the positive vibes i have and from the support i have from my family and AVID. I’m determined to give this year the best i got and to never let myself down to the point that i want to give up because i know i can do everything if i really want it that bad.
